Introduction
Meet the life of Brahms, the master of perfectly constructed music and romantic melody, in lyric opera.
“I love you beyond words.
I yearn to call you out with every single modifier through which the word love can be expressed”
Excerpt from a letter to Clara,
The lyric opera is a new creation of “Love is not to possess” by Johannes Brahms, who remained single until his death holding 14-year-old Clara Schumann in his heart. Based on the music by Brahms, one of the "Three Bs" in German Classical music - along with Bach and Beethoven, the main songs of Schumann and Clara, which are utterly heartbreaking yet beautiful, will bring the healing power of love to the audience to rock their souls. KNO has undertaken the creation of new-concept performances by building a team of Korean creators to strengthen its creative potential, and thus going through the process of incubating works through stages such as showcases and premieres. The completed works will also be presented on the stage of the local opera houses.
The lyric opera will be directed by Han Seung-won, a producer who has been well-received for producing the original Korean musicals such as , , and . Conducted by Yeo Ja-kyung, a highly acclaimed Maestra for her delicate and charismatic directing, it will be arranged and composed by Jeon Ye-eun, a young musician who made a big sensation with the produced by KNO in 2020.
